Michigan’s Shea Patterson at standstill awaiting eligibility ruling
Quarterback Shea Patterson’s transfer request to become eligible immediately at Michigan is at a “standstill,” his lawyer tells CBS Sports. Patterson and five other former Ole Miss teammates requested transfer waivers after Ole Miss was hit with NCAA sanctions on Dec. 1, 2017.

Don’t accept average from Jim Harbaugh, Wolverines
Land of 10’s Rachel Lenzi explains why Wolverines fans have a right to hold the team to a higher standard than 8-5, especially those who pay money to watch in person. But, she points out, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh feels the same way, and his offseason staff changes show that the 8-win season didn’t sit well with him, either.
Jim McElwain needs to match Wolverines’ recruiting efforts
Barton Simmons, 247Sports’ director of football scouting, says that while Michigan wide receivers coach Jim McElwain isn’t a weak link in recruiting, “I wouldn’t expect him to be leading the charge either.” That will have to change with the Wolverines. Florida had strong recruiting classes with McElwain at the helm, but not as strong as those of his predecessors.
