Rumors and reports of his interest in returning to the NFL have dogged Jim Harbaugh practically since he arrived at Michigan before the 2015 season. The Wolverines’ coach has compared NFL rumors to “warmed-up oatmeal.”
The topic came up again when Harbaugh joined the Adam Carolla podcast this week, and the coach had a fascinating answer:
Carolla: “You had so much success with the 49ers, and of course you’ve had so much success at Michigan. Have you given any thought to returning to the pro ranks? I feel like they miss you.”
Harbaugh: “You ask me how I’m doin’, I’d say never better. Super excited about our team. My goal really is that I’d love to coach 100 players here at Michigan to be NFL players. I’d love to win 100 games here. So this is really personal for me, being at Michigan, for us to have great success in football and our youngsters to have great success in the classroom. I grew up here, I went to college here. I just want to have great success here.”
You can catch the whole podcast here. Carolla and Harbaugh cover a number of topics, including Harbaugh’s NFL career, lessons he’s learned from football, why kids should keep playing football, plus some non-football stuff.
