Michigan football and coach Jim Harbaugh are getting more time in the limelight, as the football team is getting its own docuseries.
According to Michigan’s official website, Michigan’s 2017 football season and coach Jim Harbaugh are being documented by Amazon Prime. The documentary series as a whole is being produced by BTN originals, the Montag Group and Jim Jorden Productions.
“We are proud to partner with Amazon Prime Video in documenting our University of Michigan student-athletes’ daily experiences and the lifelong lessons learned both on the football field and in the classroom,” said Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh in a statement.”
Producers will follow the coaches and athletes in and around Michigan’s football facilities, giving fans and viewers a behind-the-scenes look into how the Wolverines run their week-to-week practices and preparations.
The documentary will also show the student-athletes’ lives in the classroom as well as their efforts in the local community.
“We think documenting this season will reveal that our university and football program are unique environments that equip our student-athletes for success in both academics and athletics,” Director of Athletics Warde Manuel said in a statement.
The decision to welcome a documentary series about his team is an interesting one for Harbaugh, considering how secretive he’s been about his football team during the past summer. Still, the documentary will be another view into the life of Harbaugh, who’s one of the most interesting coaches in the Big Ten conference.
“We welcome judgment!” Harbaugh said in a statement. “We embrace this opportunity to showcase our 2017 University of Michigan football team to a vast audience around the world.”
The documentary series is slated to run in January 2018 and will be available to all Amazon Prime members.
Currently, the Wolverines are 2-0 coming off of a 36-14 win over Cincinnati. They’ll play again this Saturday, Sept. 16, against Air Force at noon on Big Ten Network.
