Well, Charles Matthews, this is a heck of a way to start Michigan’s Elite Eight game against Florida State.

That and-1 dunk was the Wolverines’ first bucket of the game, and Matthews hit the free throw after drawing the foul. Center Moe Wagner helped make it happen with a deft handoff/pass that gave Matthews some space.
Matthews is a sophomore in his first season with the Wolverines after transferring from Kentucky. He sat out last season because of NCAA transfer rules, so he missed Michigan’s March run a year ago, which ended in the Sweet 16.
Matthews is a big reason Michigan’s season is still alive, as he’s tied for second on the team in scoring at 13 points per game to go along with 50 percent shooting from the field.
I’m not a believer in momentum, but this is a great way to start a game no matter what.
