Michigan is likely to fare well when the first College Football Playoff rankings are revealed on air Tuesday night.
A lot of the college football world will be tuned in, including a good portion of Michigan fans. But there’s one person in Ann Arbor who will not be watching: Jim Harbaugh.
The second-year Michigan coach said Tuesday that he will be aware of the ranking, he just doesn’t need to watch a whole show about it. He has better ways to spend his time.
“I’m not going to be able to work that into our preparations for Maryland,” Harbaugh said Tuesday. We’ll be doing other things. Not to say we don’t check them. It takes about 15 seconds to check and see where you are.
“We aspire to be as good as we can be. That’s the simple part of it. Choosing the time to spend and watching the TV production over watching Maryland tape and game planning, it’s going to take a back seat. Watching the TV show will take a back seat, to get that clear.”
