In case you missed it, Michigan basketball faced off against Villanova in the National Championship Game in San Antonio on Monday night. While both teams deserved to be playing in the game, Villanova proved that it is the best team in college basketball this season, as the Wildcats defeated the Wolverines, 79-62, to win the national title.
After the game, Villanova coach Jay Wright gave a shout-out on Twitter to Michigan coach John Beilein and the Wolverines, saying that it was “an honor” to play them in the championship game.

Win or lose, that’s what sportsmanship is all about.
For Villanova, the win marked the program’s third national title, and its second in the last three seasons. For Michigan, it is the second time in the last six seasons that the Wolverines finished as the NCAA Tournament runners-up.
