Michigan assistant Chris Partridge will turn down an offer to join Alabama’s coaching staff, ESPN college football writer Tom VanHaaren reported Friday afternoon.

Just a few hours earlier, news surfaced that Partridge, the current Wolverines linebackers coach/special teams coordinator, was a candidate to join the Crimson Tide as their inside linebackers coach. He would have been the 10th and final coach Nick Saban’s staff.
That will not happen, VanHaaren reported, but that does not mean Partridge will definitely remain at Michigan. He has garnered plenty of interest from other programs, and other offers could reportedly be on the way.
