Michigan 4-star commit Brad Hawkins has opted to take a prep year and won’t be playing for the Wolverines in 2016.
The 6-foot-1, 202-pound wide receiver announced on Twitter Friday afternoon that he would be playing at Suffield Academy (Connecticut) this season.
Hawkins is rated as the No. 55 receiver nationally in the Class of 2016. The Camden, N.J. native was one of four wide receivers to join Michigan’s Class of 2016, which ranked fifth overall and second in the Big Ten.
It’s unclear whether Hawkins will come to Michigan after his prep season.
