Michigan basketball is going to wear special shoes and socks in honor of the Fab Five.
As the Wolverines play at home against rival Michigan State on Tuesday night, the players will wear “Jumpman” black socks and black shoes. The color choice will reflect that of the Fab Five.
“A big game deserves something special,” the basketball team’s Twitter account wrote on Monday.

The talented group of Jalen Rose, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson led the Wolverines to consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament’s national championship games. But the Wolverines later had to vacate the runner-up finishes due to violations. Webber was among players to receive improper benefits in a booster scandal.
The Wolverines are set to face the Spartans at home Tuesday night at 9 ET on ESPN. They are 14-9 overall (4-6 Big Ten) while the Spartans are 14-9 (6-4 Big Ten).
