ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit had the helmets of six national-title contenders behind him Tuesday as he broke down the College Football Playoff rankings: Alabama, Clemson, Washington, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Louisville.
Conspicuously absent: Michigan.

Herbstreit played at Ohio State from 1989-92 and has frequently been accused of harboring an anti-Michigan bias. He drew criticism on Sunday when he dropped the Wolverines to No. 3 in his CFP rankings. The Playoff committee agreed with him Tuesday, slotting Alabama and Clemson above Michigan.
