Jourdan Lewis was picked 92nd overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft on Friday night.
But as Lewis heads to his new team, an off-the-field question looms large. Lewis is facing a misdemanor domestic violence charge stemming from an incident involving the former Michigan cornerback and his girlfriend in March.
Lewis was asked about the charge after being selected by the Cowboys.
“Like I told everybody else, I completely think that all charges will be dropped,” Lewis said, according to the Dallas Morning News. “I think I will be exonerated from everything. I’m completely innocent.”
Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charge in March.
