The Michigan men’s basketball team created many happy memories during March Madness this year. One of them could now accomplish far more good.
Per Dan Murphy of ESPN, Wolverines coach John Beilein is auctioning off the Super Soaker he famously used to celebrate seventh-seeded Michigan’s upset win against No. 2 seed Louisville in the NCAA Tournament. The toy is being sold at the inaugural Champions for Change Gala at Michigan’s Al Glick Field House on Saturday night.

The event is a continuation of the partnership between the university and the ChadTough Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness and research funds to fight the pediatric brain cancer disease Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).
Chad Carr, grandson of former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr, passed away from DIPG at age 5 in November 2015.
