Jimbo Fisher was already asked about Jim Harbaugh a few times in 2016 before their two teams were set to meet in the Orange Bowl.
In the spring, the Florida State coach commented on Harbaugh’s infamous satellite camps. Fisher said he “applauded” Harbaugh for beating NCAA rules and hosting the camps in Florida. Then in August, ESPN asked coaches to describe Harbaugh in one word. Fisher said “interesting.”
On Thursday, Fisher met with the media the day before his Seminoles face Harbaugh’s Wolverines in the first New Year’s 6 game of the bowl season. Fisher was asked about his comments on Harbaugh and said that he likes the second-year Michigan coach.
“I like Jim. I have no problem with him,” Fisher said. “He speaks what is on his mind and he does what is best for Michigan. He promotes his program and does a great job in that regard. He’s very successful and also very intelligent.”
Friday’s matchup will mark the first time Harbaugh and Fisher have faced off as head coaches.
