Jim Harbaugh and his wife, Sarah, had hoped to have one particular special moment during Michigan’s trip to Rome. The couple had hoped to have their son, John Paul, baptized at the Vatican.

Not only is John Paul, Harbaugh’s seventh child, going to be baptized at the seat of the Catholic Church, but their daughter, Addie, will receive her First Communion at the Vatican.
The couple confirmed both events will happen this week during a news conference that followed the Wolverines’ attendance at the weekly Papal audience in St. Peter’s Square on Wednesday. The Harbaughs presented Pope Francis with a gift of a customized Michigan helmet and U-M Nike Air Jordan shoes.
“To see my child baptized at the Vatican, to see my son John Paul baptized at the Vatican, to see my daughter Addison receive her First Communion at the Vatican, to meet the Holy Father, if I accomplish nothing more in my life, if I go right now, I’ll be going out a blessed man,” Harbaugh told reporters. “This is as good as it gets. This has been the experience of my lifetime.”
