Former Florida coach Jim McElwain recently joined Michigan’s football staff, his first job since parting ways with the Gators midway through last season. His biggest problem at Florida was his team’s inability to score, but you wouldn’t know that by reading McElwain’s Michigan bio.
Florida ranked 100th or worse nationally in scoring offense in each of the last three seasons. In McElwain’s final three games (all of which were losses), the Gators combined to score 40 total points.
So some Florida fans took exception to one adjective in particular in McElwain’s official team biography at his new job.
“McElwain’s units were explosive on offense during his time at Florida, especially through the passing game,” his official bio reads.
Florida fans on Twitter had some thoughts about the “explosive” part.

McElwain was hired as Michigan’s wide receivers coach, but there is a chance he could also become the offensive coordinator on Jim Harbaugh’s staff. Michigan and former offensive coordinator Tim Drevno parted ways last month.
Michigan averaged 25.2 points and 348.9 yards per game last season. Not very explosive.
