Jim Harbaugh, for the first time at Michigan, disclosed his personal imaginary enemy this week: Freddy P. Soft.
Freddy is what Harbaugh described as “a 4-inch guy that wears a cape and a hat with a plume in it. He’s just tall enough to talk right into your ear and tell you that, ‘You don’t have to practice today. Why are you working so hard? Get over there in the shade.’ ”
Just days later, Freddy has his own song.
Rick Neuheisel, the former Washington and UCLA head coach and current radio host on SiriusXM, sang a tune about Freddy on the airwaves. Over a light, acoustic melody, Neuheisel crooned a two-minute ditty with the lines “it’s too hot let’s go inside, disregard your foolish pride,” and “you wanna know if he picked his nose, ask me I was really close.”
