Jim Harbaugh’s news conference following Michigan’s win Saturday over Cincinnati got a little intense, as Jim Harbaugh news conferences tend to do.
While the Wolverines eventually pulled away from Cincinnati, the freshman- and sophomore-heavy team made plenty of mistakes along the way. When asked about the Wolverines’ inexperience, Harbaugh had something to say.

“I’m 53. It’s gone dead. I’m dead in here. Burnt wood. Experiences, butterflies and emotions that way. But guys that are doing it for the first time or the second time, even? They gained some experience. We got some more of that today, and that’s a good thing.”
That wasn’t the only time Harbaugh endorsed being an emotionless husk on the football field, also saying, “It’s hard to play with a lot of emotion. You’re better off being dead to them.”
