Jim and Sarah Harbaugh’s newborn son, John, is doing well and is continuing to grow, according to his dad.
John was born on Jan. 11, nearly a month before his due date of Feb. 6. Jim’s seventh child was released from the intensive care unit about three weeks ago, and his health has been steadily improving.
Harbaugh discussed his newborn son and the experience of his wife giving birth prematurely on the “TK Show” podcast with Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News.
“You realize life is not a given, it’s a spectacular thing,” Harbaugh said. “We’re concentrating on keeping him and getting him to grow. He’s not as wimpy as he was when he first came out.”
Harbaugh thanked the doctors and nurses who worked with John and mentioned how he balanced trips to the hospital with the end of the 2017 recruiting cycle. The Michigan coach mentioned he would often go out on recruiting trips during the day and then do the “graveyard” shift with John at the hospital.
Harbaugh also discussed his feud with
Pete Paul Finebaum on the podcast.
