Anyone who’s spent time around Jim Harbaugh probably has a good Harbaugh story. Some of the best come from outgoing seniors that he coached for two seasons.
NFL.com asked the six Michigan players participating in Saturday’s East-West Shrine Game — Kyle Kalis, Erik Magnuson, De’Veon Smith, Dymonte Thomas, Channing Stribling and Delano Hill — to share their best.
Our favorite comes from Magnuson, an offensive lineman.
“After our Utah game his first year, he was frustrated with the wide receivers’ blocking, so the Monday after the game, he tried to demonstrate on the podium,” Magnuson told NFL.com. “He gets a little running start, blocks the podium, and the whole thing just falls apart, wood shattered everywhere. I think he was as shocked as we were. We didn’t really start laughing until we saw he was making light of it himself.”
Among the others are the time Harbaugh pulled his hamstring running a route and when he went into the Mormon Tabernacle in Utah in cleats.
