Jim Harbaugh wants the former residents of the White House to come to the Big House.
Harbaugh would like Barack and Michelle Obama to serve as honorary captains for his Michigan football team, though it won’t happen this year he told WXYZ. Still, Harbaugh thinks it could be a possibility down the road.
“It’ll happen. It’ll happen someday, I believe,” he told WXYZ.
Harbaugh met both the former President and First Lady over the summer after he spoke on behalf of the Legal Services Corporation in Washington D.C. Harbaugh said Barack Obama “shared a lot of insights” with him when they met. Harbaugh also watched the 44th POTUS talk when he visited Michigan in late 2016.
Michigan has had Tom Brady, Michael Jordan and Adam Schefter as honorary captains over the last two years. Knowing Harbaugh, he is going to keep working to get the Obamas in maize and blue.
