Jim Harbaugh “believes” Wolverines wide receiver Jehu Chesson will be ready for the start of training camp, he said Monday at Big Ten Media Days.
The first-team All-Big Ten wideout suffered a leg injury in the Citrus Bowl against Florida and needed surgery. He missed spring practice because of it.
“Yes, I believe he will,” Harbaugh said when asked about whether Chesson would be ready for camp.
Chesson, a fifth-year senior, caught 50 passes for 764 yards and nine scores in 2015.
According to MLive.com’s Nick Baumgarner, quarterbacks John O’Korn and Wilton Speight said in June that Chesson had not been running routes in the offseason.
Michigan opens its season at home on Sept. 3 against Hawaii.
