Michigan officials met with Hawaii defensive coordinator Kevin Lempa for a non-coaching job on the football staff over the weekend, according to reports.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported on Tuesday that Lempa could be making the move.
The paper also reported that Lempa previously worked under Wolverines defensive coordinator Don Brown at Boston College from 2013-2015 and at Maryland from 2009-2010.
With 42 years of coaching experience, Lempa also has previously worked in other capacities with the Rainbow Warriors, Terrapins and Eagles, and also had a stint with the San Diego Chargers in the NFL.
Though it’s unclear what position Lempa could be taking with the Wolverines, it’s safe to assume it likely would have something to do with defense.
