Former Michigan star Jake Butt had knee surgery Tuesday after the tight end tore his ACL in the Orange Bowl against Florida State.
Later Tuesday, Butt tweeted a brief update.
Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. Surgery went very well and it will be a smooth recovery !

A major NFL prospect—he has often been projected a first-round pick—Butt said immediately following the injury that he had no plans to skip the Orange Bowl to avoid injury, as Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey and LSU’s Leonard Fournette did with their respective bowl games.
never once crossed my mind to sit this game out and I would never change that mindset. I play this game bc I love it, my teammates, coaches
