Michigan is officially the underdog in the 2018 National Championship Game vs. Villanova on Monday night.
Villanova was listed as a 7-point favorite against the Wolverines in a betting line posted by sportsbook Bovada on Saturday night shortly after the title game matchup was set. The point total over/under for the game was set at 145.
Villanova, a top seed and champion of the Big East Tournament, enters the title game fresh off a 95-79 drubbing of fellow No. 1 seed Kansas on Saturday night. Jay Wright’s team hit 18 3-pointers in the win over the Jayhawks, setting a new Final Four record.
Michigan, meanwhile, came from behind to end No. 11 Loyola-Chicago’s Cinderella run in the 2018 NCAA Tournament with a 69-57 victory. It was the 14th straight win for the third-seeded Wolverines, who have not lost since Feb. 6.
The matchup against Villanova will mark the first time Michigan has faced a higher seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. To get to the title game, Michigan has defeated No. 14 Montana, No. 6 Houston, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 9 Florida State and No. 11 Loyola-Chicago.
