Michigan’s 26-19 loss to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl on Monday was a tough ending to the season for Jim Harbaugh and his team.
It was the second straight bowl loss under Harbaugh and per usual, Twitter reacted.
Fans and media alike voiced their opinions on the third-year Michigan coach, who has 28 wins in those years as opposed to 26 for Brady Hoke, the man he replaced.
Here are some of the tweets and takes that surfaced after the game, starting with media members:
Harbaugh is the most overrated coach in football. No creativity after a month of practice.

Congrats to Michigan and Jim Harbaugh on the greatest 8-5, 4th place in Big Ten East, Outback Bowl loss to an SEC team season in college football history.

From a 19-3 lead in the 3rd quarter to a 26-19 loss … a brutal end to 2017 for Michigan. That sets up what I'll call a "fascinating" 2018 for Jim Harbaugh and Co. Wonder if there will be an exotic spring break trip this year?

Number of wins, first three years at Michigan: Harbaugh 28, Hoke 26.

Needless to say Jim Harbaugh did not earn his $7 million this season. That was a bad loss to end a uninspiring season.

Question: Where does Harbaugh rank among Big Ten coaches right now? Behind Meyer, Dantonio, Franklin, Chryst for sure. Now Frost arrives. And there are up-and-comers like Brohm and Durkin. Fitzgerald, despite some odd game-day decisions, has NW successful.

This is the first loss that has me questioning the direction of Michigan under Harbaugh. I still think Michigan will have a very good team next year, but I'm no longer nearly as confident. There are a lot of questions on offense. The QB. The OL. The play calling.

And here are some from fans:
I’m a U of M football fan. It’s time to go to ground. Not that I’m a lover of the Belichick method but it may be prudent now that the Harbaugh method isn’t working. 🤔😤👿🤬. Harbs might be a good coach but I’m not 👀yet.

Me to Harbaugh on suffering the only loss for the Big 10 this postseason… pic.twitter.com/rhtWvTbTok

Harbaugh lost the Outback Bowl. He is still yet to defeat Ohio State. These are things that he was DEFINITELY not paid to do.

Put Harbaugh in the hot seat.

#GoBlue I've taken a half hour walk to collect my thoughts. I'm having serious reservations as to whether this Jim Harbaugh offense can work in college football. Needs something more diverse and wide open.
