Emil Ekiyor, a 4-star offensive lineman, is a top-100 player with offers from almost every top program in the country. But the Michigan commit might not be a Wolverines’ pledge for much longer.
According to Brandon Brown of The Wolverine, communication between Ekiyor (Cathedral HS/Indianapolis) and the Michigan staff has “fallen off” in the last few months, so he’s trying to figure out if the team still wants him. He’ll visit soon to get more clarity.
Ekiyor committed in October and is the top-rated player in Michigan’s 2018 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Nationally, he’s ranked 95th overall and as the No. 3 offensive guard.
Alabama is making a strong push for Ekiyor, according to The Wolverine. Ekiyor has offers from the Tide, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Southern Cal and 27 others, per 247Sports.
The Wolverines’ class has eight commits and ranks 16th nationally. Ekiyor, at 6-foot-2 and 322 pounds, is the only offensive lineman committed so far.
