Dwyane Wade has taken a liking to Michigan guard Charles Matthews, a fellow Chicago native playing high-level Division I basketball.
It has resulted in Wade rooting for the Wolverines, and the Miami Heat guard made that clear with his Snapchat on Thursday night. Wade is in Oklahoma City, gearing up for the Heat’s game Friday against the Thunder, but he made it a priority to watch Michigan dominate Texas A&M in the Sweet 16.

“In OKC, watching a little NCAA,” Wade said in the Snapchat. “Watching my young fella Charles Matthews and Michigan. Watching these guys do their thing.”
Wade, who played at Marquette from 2001-03, carried the Golden Eagles to just their third Final Four appearance in 2003.
Now, he’s cheering on the Wolverines to do the same. They’ll play No. 9 seed Florida State in the Elite Eight on Saturday night.
