With Michigan’s matchup against Florida State in the Orange Bowl just days away, one of the Wolverines’ all-time great players stopped by practice to check on his former team’s preparations.
On Monday afternoon, Angelique S. Chengelis of the Detroit News tweeted a picture of former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard wearing a Michigan hat on site at the Wolverines’ practice in Miami.

Howard played at Michigan from 1989-91, catching 134 passes for 2,146 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also returning kickoffs and punts. He won the Heisman in 1991, when he led the Big Ten in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and topped all of Division I in overall touchdowns.
Howard now works as an analyst on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
Michigan and Florida State will square off in the Orange Bowl at 8 p.m. Friday.
