Michigan wasn’t going to be outdone by Ohio State on Saturday.
The Buckeyes got a 5-star OL commit in the class of 2019 earlier in the day and the Wolverines responded with a 2019 5-star of its own when Christopher Hinton tweeted that he would be joining the maize and blue.

Hinton is the No. 9 overall player in the class of 2019 according to 247Sports and the No. 1-ranked defensive end. The pass-rusher from Norcross, Ga. is Michigan’s fourth verbal commit in the 2019 class and is the second 5-star recruit, joining another DE in Stephen Herron Jr.
It may be a bit early, but the Wolverines held the No. 8 recruiting class in the country for 2019 entering the day, and with Hinton now joining the group, a top-5 ranked (updated) class certainly seems within reach.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound pass-rusher already has scholarship offers from Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Florida State, Clemson and Stanford, among others. Hinton’s pledge to Michigan comes 14 days after an unofficial visit to Ohio State.
