There could be more shake ups on Michigan’s staff. This time it might be caused by the national champs.
Michigan linebackers coach/special teams coordinator Chris Partridge is a candidate to fill an opening on Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama, according to AL.com. Partridge has spent the last two seasons on Jim Harbaugh’s staff and was named the Recruiter of the Year by 247Sports last year.
Matt Zenitz of AL.com said the Crimson Tide could use Partridge as an inside linebackers coach for their 10th and final spot on the staff.
Land of 10’s Kevin Goheen broke down the many roles Partridge has at Michigan last year. If he heads to Alabama, it would be a tough loss for Michigan in an offseason filled with new faces on the coaching staff.
Michigan has already officially added offensive assistant Dan Enos, defensive assistant Al Washington and new strength coach Ben Herbert to its staff. The Wolverines are also reportedly bringing in Central Michigan assistant Sherrone Moore.
Michigan lost Greg Frey, who took a job as Florida State’s offensive line coach. And passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton has been linked to NFL jobs.
It seems like a few more chips have to fall before Michigan’s 2018 coaching staff is finalized.
