Michigan is now the nation’s No. 1 team. Well, according to S&P rankings that is.
According to Bill Connelly’s S&P rankings released this morning, which compile and determine rankings from play-by-play information from successful plays, opponent adjustments, the ability to create field position advantages and more, Michigan is ranked the top of all FBS teams.

Michigan tops SEC schools Alabama and LSU who are No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Ohio State isn’t far off, as they come in at No. 5, while Wisconsin is the 20th best S&P team.
