One of the top high school defensive ends in the country has committed to Michigan.
Aidan Hutchinson, a 4-star recruit and 247Sports’ ninth-ranked player at his position in 2018, announced his commitment Tuesday night via Twitter. The Dearborn (Mich.) Divine Child High star won’t travel far, and is the first in-state commit for the Wolverines in 2018. He’ll also continue the family legacy at Michigan. His father, Chris, was an All-America selection in 1992.
“I would like to thank my family for guiding and supporting me along this recruiting process. Also, a special thanks to all of my Divine Child coaches for assisting me in this journey. I am so humbled and grateful to all the schools that have shown interest in me. But, I am ready to end this recruiting process and focus on this upcoming season. I am blessed to say that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan #GoBlue,” Hutchinson shared on Twitter.

The 6-foot-5, 234-pound Hutchinson also is ranked as the No. 4 prospect in Michigan. The Tuesday commitment gives the Wolverines a trio of 4-star pledges for 2018. Hutchinson follows OG Emil Ekiyor and LB Otis Reese.
Hutchinson also is ranked No. 204 in the country among all 2018 recruits.
