After some recruiting hits this week, Michigan got some good news on the recruiting front. As did Nebraska.
Both the Wolverines and Cornhuskers made 4-star DB Elijah Gates’ top-7 list, Gates revealed Friday on Twitter. The Big Ten schools are joined by Cal, Notre Dame, Oregon, TCU and UCLA.

Gates picked up an offer from Michigan in April. Nebraska gave him an offer in February. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback is from Buena Park, Calif.
He’s ranked 255th nationally for the 2017 class by 247 Sports‘ composite rankings — and 28th in California.
There is still plenty of time to go, but Gates’ list is some good news for Michigan — the Wolverines had three decommitments this week. Michigan still has 18 commitments for the 2017 class.
According to Maxpreps.com, Gates had 747 receiving yards and 19 tackles as a junior.
Meanwhile, Nebraska has 13 committed for 2017.
