David DeJulius didn’t waste any time accepting his offer from Michigan.
DeJulius, a 3-star point guard from Detroit in the Class of 2018, committed the Wolverines on Thursday. That came less than a week after he tweeted that he had received an offer.

“I was just overwhelmed,” DeJulius told Land of 10 earlier this week. “I just said I’ve got to work even harder now, because I’m capable now of playing at that level. I’ve just got to be ready for it.”
DeJulius is ranked No. 172 overall and is the No. 32 point guard in his class according to the 247Sports.com composite. ESPN rates DeJulius as a 4-star. In addition to Michigan, he had also received interest from Michigan State.
DeJulius is the first commitment to the Wolverines from the Class of 2018.
The 6-foot, 188-pound point guard plays his high school basketball for East English Village Prep in Detroit, and has played for AAU giant The Family since sixth grade.
“I know they’re point guard-oriented,” DeJulius said of Michigan. “They like their point guards to get a quick basket, and if not, they want to run something. They play fundamental. They want you to shoot the ball good.”
