After a slow start in Bloomington, Michigan State came to life late in the first quarter with an 86-yard touchdown pass from Tyler O’Connor to R.J. Shelton.
Shelton gained separation on his man, and O’Connor hit him in stride with a beautiful pass that came down around the Indiana 40-yard line.

The play was the longest touchdown pass for Michigan State since 2013, when Connor Cook hit Bennie Fowler for an 87-yard score.
The score gave the Spartans a 7-0 lead over the Hoosiers with 4:39 left in the first quarter.
