There were hugs all around for the Michigan State Spartans late Tuesday night.
Dorothy, Izzo’s mother, visited Michigan State in the locker room after the game, prompting players to show their respect through hugs.
Michigan State’s postgame locker room:
Dorothy wore green (of course) as many players thanked her for coming.
Toward the end of the video, Dorothy kisses her son on the cheek. It’s probably an emotional time for the Izzo family, as Izzo’s father passed away a year ago Wednesday (Dec. 28).
Michigan State (9-5 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) next plays Northwestern in the Spartans’ second game of the Big Ten season. Northwestern visits on Friday for a 6 p.m. ET game on the Big Ten Network. The Wildcats are also 1-0 in the conference, as Northwestern improved to 12-2 overall with a win against Penn State.
