Michigan State inched closer to landing Vernon Carey for its 2019 recruiting class on Wednesday.
The 5-star power forward listed the Spartans in his top 5 schools in a graphic posted on his personal Twitter that depicted him in the jerseys of his choices.

Carey also had Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina and Miami in his group.
According to 247Sports composite, Carey is the No. 1 power forward in the 2019 class and the No. 1 recruit out of the state of Florida. Overall, he is the No. 2 recruit in the nation.
247’s crystal ball predictor had him at 54 percent to the Blue Devils and a 23-percent chance to go to the Hurricanes and Spartans. His father played tackle for the Hurricane football team.
The 6-foot-9, 245-pound talent is a beast and has been for University School in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.
