Tyler O’Connor will start at quarterback for Michigan State on Saturday when the Spartans play Rutgers.
O’Connor left last week’s game against Illinois after taking a hit to the head. Coach Mark Dantonio suggested during the week that O’Connor would play Saturday but made no promises.
O’Connor has completed 61.1 percent of his passes this season, throwing for 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions while sometimes sharing QB duties with Damion Terry and Brian Lewerke.
Michigan State and Rutgers kick off at noon E.T.
