Wide receiver Micah Jones has garnered a ton of interest during his recruitment. But the 2018 four-star recruit has narrowed down his list to five suitors, four of which hail from the Big Ten.
Jones told Scout.com’s Allen Trieu that Michigan State, Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois and Notre Dame have all made the cut, although it’s uncertain who the favorite is on that list.
One school that might have ascended to the top is Michigan State. The Spartans offered Jones a scholarship last week during his visit to East Lansing, Mich.
“I love the blue collar feel of the program,” Jones told Trieu. “You have to work for everything you get. I also love the closeness of the program. It’s like a big family.”
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound prospect has been a hot commodity since starting his high school career at Warren Township High School (Gurnee, Ill.). He’s currently ranked as the No. 17 receiver nationally in the 2018 class and the No. 2 player in Illinois. Jones has received 10 scholarship offers, including offers from Iowa State, Syracuse and Vanderbilt.
The race has only just begun for one of the region’s top players.
