Southern Utah punter pays tribute to former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler during opener
The college football specialists fraternity is a tight-knit one.
Thursday, Southern Utah punter Tate Lewis wrote “Sadler 3” on his arm in the team’s season opener against Utah to pay tribute to former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler, who died in a car accident in late July. Nebraska punter Sam Foltz was also killed in the crash.

Both Sadler and Foltz were beloved by teammates and college football players from around the country.
Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone will wear No. 27 in honor of Foltz this fall. Both Michigan State and Nebraska have set up scholarship funds in their honors and have found ways to commemorate them on their jerseys and fields.
