EAST LANSING, Mich. — Does anyone really know what constitutes targeting anymore?
Take a look for yourself at this hit from Michigan’s Devin Bush on Michigan State’s Chris Frey on Saturday. It came on a punt return in the second quarter at Spartan Stadium.
Frey stayed down for about a minute before making his way to the sideline. He then returned to play shortly after, potentially raising questions about whether he had enough time to pass concussion protocol.
Should this have been targeting? Fox Sports rules analyst Mike Pereira thinks so.
Agree with the announcers in Michigan State. Replay should have gotten involved and called targeting on the blindside block.

Michigan went on to score on the ensuing drive to increase its lead to 24-10.
