Searching for an offensive spark, Michigan State made a quarterback change in the fourth quarter against BYU.
Tyler O’Connor was pulled in favor of junior Damion Terry as the Spartans trailed the Cougars, 17-7, early in the fourth quarter.
A fourth-year player, Terry appeared in 10 games for the Spartans last season, mostly at wide receiver. The 6-foot-4, 232-pound Terry had 68 rushing yards in 2015.
O’Connor had just 58 yards through three quarters on 7-of-11 passing. Michigan State had just 112 total yards through three quarters.
The Spartans offense has been lousy in the last three games as they scored just six points against Wisconsin, 21 against Indiana (both losses) and only seven through 45 minutes against BYU.
