Michigan State will continue playing against elite competition early in the basketball season.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports the Spartans will play in a 2018 tournament in Las Vegas with Texas, North Carolina and UCLA.
Michigan State, Texas, North Carolina, and UCLA are instead expected to play in an early 2018 tournament in Las Vegas, per multiple sources.

Michigan State was originally supposed to play in an event setup by athletic director Mark Hollis with Florida, Texas, and North Carolina at three separate venues (New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles). Rothstein reports “logistical issues” prevented it from happening.
Michigan State will play in the Champion’s Classic in New York again this year, this time against Kentucky.
