Michigan State on Wednesday unveiled a bronze statue of Sparty, weighing more than 1,500 pounds, to be displayed at the MSU Union.
The sculpture, commissioned in 2015 and created by Oregon-based artist Alison Brown, cost $150,000, according to the Detroit Free Press. Students helped decide on the sculptor and choose Sparty’s pose.
