The Michigan State football team will honor the late Mylan Hicks, a former Spartans football player who was tragically killed in September, on Saturday during the team’s game against BYU. The number “6,” Hicks’ jersey number, will be midfield in Spartan Stadium.
There will also be a funeral service open to the public at 11 a.m. on Friday at New Providence Baptist Church, 18211 Plymouth Road in Detroit.

Hicks died in a nightclub shooting in Calgary on Sept. 25. He was a part of Michigan State’s program from 2010 to 2014.
