Michigan State pushed around Notre Dame on Saturday.
RB Gerald Holmes, who didn’t have a carry in the Spartans opener against Furman, ripped off a 74-yard TD run in the third quarter to extend his team’s lead to 36-7. Notre Dame climbed all the way back, but fell 36-28.
The line opened up a gaping hole on that play and Holmes hit it hard. He finished with 100 yards and two TDs on 13 carries.
