There could be some good news coming for Tom Izzo or Thad Matta on the recruiting trail this week.
Nojel Eastern, a four-star small forward in the 2017 class, will be announcing his college decision Wednesday at 4:45 ET. The Spartans are the favorite to land the Evanston, Ill. native, according to 247 Sports’ crystal ball.

If Eastern does not end up at Michigan State, there is a good chance he could still wind up in the Big Ten. He visited Ohio State in late October and has shown interest in Purdue and Michigan. Eastern has 15 total offers, and he also took an official visit to Seton Hall.
Eastern, who stands at 6-foot-6, is rated as the 69th-best recruit in his class and the No. 14 small forward.
Michigan State lost out on highly touted Gary Trent Jr. last week when he committed to Duke. The Spartans currently have two players in their 2017 class, including five-star prospect Jaren Jackson.
