Michigan State extended an offer to 3-star Newton (Covington, Ga.) running back Kurt Taylor on Friday.
What makes it particularly interesting, though, is Taylor’s current allegiance. The 5-foot-9, 200-pound senior, rated a 3-star prospect by the 247Sports composite, has been committed to Michigan since October 2015.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio called Taylor to share the offer. Then he suggested getting Taylor up to East Lansing for an official visit on Jan. 27, the final weekend of the live period.
“I will take a visit,” Taylor told Land of 10 when asked if he would oblige Dantonio’s request.
Michigan State currently has one running back commitment in the 2017 class in Copley (Ohio) 3-star Weston Bridges. The Spartans host Cherokee (Burlington, N.J.) 3-star Johnathan Lovett on an official visit over the weekend and are expected to do the same later in the month with prospects Cordarrian Richardson, Alonzo Booth and DeWayne Murray III.
Michigan currently has commitments from Taylor and Los Lunas (N.M.) 4-star prospect O’Maury Samuels. Former commit A.J. Dillon flipped to Boston College in December, and the Wolverines could not flip the nation’s No. 1 recruit, Najee Harris, from his commitment to Alabama.
