Three players have been tabbed to lead Michigan State in the 2016 season.
QB Tyler O’Connor, who won the job last week, LB Riley Bullough and CB Demetrious Cox have been voted as the teams captains.

Michigan State’s captaincies have been in focus more in the last year than any other program. Connor Cook, the team’s 3-year starter at quarterback, was not voted a captain as a senior. It wound up raising red flags during his NFL scouting process, too.
O’Connor lost the starting job to Cook three years ago, but stayed with the team and beat out Damion Terry for the job this fall.
Bullough, the team’s starting middle linebacker, is a third-generation Spartan. His grandfather Hank played guard in the early 1950s, father Shane and uncle Chuck played linebacker in the 1980s, uncle Bobby Morse played running back in the 1980s, brother Max was a four-year letterwinner from 2010-13 and his younger brother Byron is a sophomore linebacker for the Spartans.
Cox is a three-year letterman at cornerback and is entering his second season as a starter.
