Michigan State DT Malik McDowell was ejected for targeting in the fourth quarter against Indiana. He missed the remainder of the game and will also sit out the first half next week against BYU.
McDowell hit Indiana QB Richard Lagow in the chest after he found Mitchell Paige for a touchdown to put the Hoosiers up 21-14.
This is the hit that got Malik McDowell ejected from the game … Unbelievable.https://t.co/mE0WTGCNyN

McDowell is the Spartans best defensive player and a potential first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft. He had 41 tackles and 4.5 sacks last season as a sophomore.
Impartial Fan here: The targeting call on Malik McDowell was one of the most preposterous, inexplicable calls I've seen in sports. #GoGreen

Malik McDowell just got ejected for a form tackle on the waist. That's how you tell guys to tackle.
